Sidhu Moose Wala's Father Accuses Punjab Govt of Harassment

Balkaur Singh, father of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has leveled allegations of harassment against the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government following the birth of his second son.
Singh and his wife, Charan Kaur, welcomed a baby boy on March 17, nearly two years after the tragic loss of their only son, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moose Wala.
Taking to Instagram, Balkaur Singh expressed gratitude for the arrival of their new child but also revealed that he had been facing harassment from the government. He claimed that authorities had been demanding documentation for the newborn, insinuating doubts about the child's legality.
Though not explicitly stated, it is believed that the couple opted for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to conceive their baby. This comes in the wake of the government's introduction of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act in December 2021, which imposes strict age limits for IVF procedures.
Balkaur Singh appealed to the government, particularly Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, to conclude all necessary procedures and pledged his cooperation. He asserted his adherence to all legal requirements and promised to furnish all relevant documents as requested.
Sidhu Moose Wala tragically lost his life to assailants in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, 2022, at the age of 28. It is noteworthy that Moose Wala had also contested the Punjab Assembly elections in the same year, albeit unsuccessfully, on a Congress ticket from Mansa.
