Mangaluru: According to sources, cracks have appreared on Pumpwell flyover due to the rainfall in the city. 

Also it is learnt that the rain water has accumulated on both the sides of the service road. The water was however removed using JCB machine.

Unscientific work carried out in the construction of the flyover could be one of the reason why the cracks developed. Since the rainfall was moderate compared to the heavy downpour of the monsoon the issue could be handled immediately. However if the cracks developed due to the rain problems could rise and create traffic issues. 

The authorities would need to take immediate measures to ensure that no further damage is done during the upcoming rainy season.
