All essential services to remain open from 6.00 AM to 12:00 PM - Mangalore

Post announcement of the 21 days pan India lockdown to avoid the further spread of the Covid-19 virus and break the chain, panic and confusion arouse in public here in Mangalore regarding the availability of essentials like milk, groceries, medicine and medical emergencies.

However, Police commissioner of Mangaluru Dr P S Harsha, in a tweet gave detailed and clear information regarding essential services to be open to the public form from 6.00 AM to 12:00 PM, so as to avoid and stop fear-mongering and fake news being spread in the public.

Dr P S Harsha has informed that in Dakshina Kannada, essential services and grocery shops will be open from 6 am to 12 noon. He assured that essential services will not be interrupted. Further, he has appealed to public to avoid being on groups and maintain social distance.

The City Police had already cracked the whip against people violating magisterial orders under section 144 of CRP invoked in wake of Covid-19 outbreak and arrested seven. City police chief PS Harsha said the arrests were carried out under section 71 of Karnataka Police Act for violating magisterial orders and directions of police officers on duty.

The Police have appealed the people not to venture outside their homes, further violators will be slammed with stricter section where the violators would be arrested without bail as per sources.
