Mangaluru: As a precautionary measure, the whole city of Dakshina Kannada is under lockdown and all the KSRTC and private buses remained off the road on Monday March 23 2020. However only few private vehicles were seen plying on the roads.

However, the essential services like supermarket, all offices of government and local bodies, power, water and civic services, banks, ATMs, telephone, home delivery of food, medicines and medical equipment still continue to function. 

Many restaurants were found open with only functional kitchen. They encourgaed only takeaway (parcel) and no service at the restaurant was given.
