Mangaluru: In a battle fighting against Covid 19, the city of Mangaluru remained closed on a day long self curfew (Janta Curfew). On the self isolation request made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to minimise the spread of coronavirus, the public stayed back at home lending a helping hand in stopping the growth of virus. 

However, the civic workers of Antony Waste Handling Pvt Ltd which handles waste collection in the city and police personnel on duty, the whole city was empty. 

Central Market, Fish Market, National Highway and other arterial roads, private bus, autorickshwas most of the remained closed. Also trains starting from Mangaluru Central and Mangaluru Junction Railway station stood cancelled.
