Bengaluru Police Nab Woman Behind Years-Long Laptop Theft Spree

Bengaluru authorities have apprehended a 29-year-old woman from Rajasthan accused of perpetrating a string of laptop thefts spanning several years across the city's paying guest accommodations.
Jassu Agarwal was arrested by Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, who revealed that she was found in possession of 24 laptops valued at Rs10 lakh.
The arrest comes following an investigation into multiple theft reports, including one from a rented house under the HAL police station last October, where a laptop, charger, and mouse were reported stolen. Subsequent inquiries led to Agarwal's identification and subsequent arrest.
According to officials, Agarwal's modus operandi involved targeting paying guest accommodations in software company localities and other areas such as Tin Factory, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Silkboard, Hebbala, Whitefield, and Mahadevpur.
Further investigations revealed that the stolen laptops were being sold to various laptop shops in Marathahalli, Yalahanka, and Hebbal by the accused.
The successful resolution of the case was attributed to the efforts of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sivakumar from the Whitefield Division, with support from the HAL Police Inspector and other officers. Their collaborative efforts led to the arrest of Agarwal, bringing an end to her years-long spree of laptop thefts in Bengaluru.
