Karnataka Ends Night Curfew On Monday; Bengaluru Schools, Colleges To Open

Bengaluru: Karnataka's night curfew will be lifted on Monday, and schools and colleges in Bengaluru will reopen as well, the state government announced today, with hospitalization due to Covid now at 2% and the recovery rate increasing.
"From Monday, all classes will be operational in schools with the strict implementation of COVID19 appropriate behavior and protocol," Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh said following a meeting on the state's Covid situation chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

As part of the revised guidelines, government offices will operate at full capacity rather than 50%. Hotels, restaurants, clubs, pubs, and bars have also been allowed to operate at full capacity – they were previously limited to 50% capacity.

However, 50% capacity would remain in theatres, auditoriums, and multiplexes. Gyms and swimming pools, too, can operate at 50% capacity.

The Metro rail and other modes of public transportation will operate at full capacity.

Marriage ceremonies with a capacity of 200 people indoors and 300 people outside are permitted, and religious buildings can be opened to 50% capacity. However, no permission has been granted for social, religious, or political rallies, dharnas, conventions, or protests.

A decision has also been taken to reserve 25 percent of beds in private hospitals for Covid patients and instructions have been issued to ensure proper treatment for non-Covid patients, the guidelines said.

A strict vigil at borders with Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa will continue.
