Nine new Covid-19 cases reported at Paramedical college

Mangaluru: Just when Mangaloreans were breathing a sigh of relief from lower cases of reported covid patients, nine students from the paramedical college were tested positive on Monday. 

Speaking to the media, Dr Ashok H nodal officer for Covid-19, said that the college hoste has been made a containment zone. He further said that a total of 16 cases were reported in a Navodaya Vidyalaya in the district between November 15 and 28. The health department had collected swabs from 231 primary contacts from the institute, where there are three active cases at present. 

Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Akshay Sridhar said that the students were tested based on MCC’s directions wherein they had to test all those who had returned from Kerala.
