Delhi Police cleared Shaheen Bagh here on Tuesday, putting an end to the 3.5-month long nuisance and agitation against the implementation of CAA, which has been approved by both the houses and un-official NRC-NPR, which is not yet approved or even drafted by various organizations, which caused unrest in the city and the latest being the violence that broke down in Delhi killing many from both communities and Shaheen Bagh, itself had become a platform to anti-India statements being made towards the country and the PM in pretext of upholding the constitution and democracy. The protesters said the police action was based on their request to clear the road so that no person suffers in the event of the spread of Covid-19.
It said the protesters were not ready to leave the venue despite multiple requests. “A total of nine protesters, including six women, were detained and taken to a nearby police station,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) RP Meena said. “People were requested to vacate the site as a lockdown has been imposed due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, action was taken when refused to move,” Meena added.
