AAP MP Visits Swati Maliwal Amid Assault Allegations; BJP Protests Ensue

Amidst escalating tensions over allegations of assault against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's assistant, AAP MP Sanjay Singh visited Swati Maliwal's residence, prompting BJP protests and demands for clarity on her safety.

On Wednesday, AAP MP Sanjay Singh paid a visit to Swati Maliwal's residence, accompanied by Vandana Singh of the Delhi Women Commission, amidst swirling controversy over Maliwal's complaint against Kejriwal's assistant, Vibhav Kumar, for allegedly assaulting her at the CM's residence.

Sanjay Singh's acknowledgment of the incident on Tuesday, coupled with the assurance of appropriate action by the AAP, fueled speculation over the unfolding situation. Swati Maliwal, however, has refrained from issuing any official statement regarding the incident.

The BJP staged a protest, expressing concerns over Maliwal's safety and questioning her prolonged absence from public view following the incident. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala accused the AAP of attempting to coerce Maliwal into silence or altering her narrative, instead of pursuing legal recourse through filing an FIR.

Swati Maliwal reportedly visited Arvind Kejriwal's Civil Lines residence on Monday, where the alleged assault occurred. Subsequently, the police received a PCR call from a woman claiming assault at Kejriwal's house, later identified as Swati Maliwal. Despite this, Maliwal left the Civil Lines police station without filing a formal complaint.

Acknowledging the incident, AAP MP Sanjay Singh condemned the assault, affirming Kejriwal's commitment to addressing the matter. Meanwhile, Congress leader Alka Lamba broke her silence on the issue, urging Maliwal to step forward and file an FIR in light of Sanjay Singh's admission.

As the controversy unfolds, questions linger over the handling of the assault allegation and the subsequent response from involved parties. With pressure mounting from various quarters, the spotlight remains firmly on Swati Maliwal's next course of action and the potential ramifications for Delhi's political landscape.
