K Kavitha Liquor Controversy : ED Alleges 100 Crore Conspiracy

The ongoing political clash between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a dramatic turn as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) alleged a 100 crore conspiracy involving AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, along with K Kavitha, in the Delhi liquor policy.
According to the ED, K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and others conspired with top AAP leaders to gain favors in Delhi's excise policy. They allegedly paid 100 crore to AAP for favorable treatment in the now-defunct excise policy formulation and implementation.
K Kavitha was apprehended by the ED from Hyderabad last week. AAP swiftly dismissed the allegations, branding the ED as a political tool of the BJP and denouncing the charges against Arvind Kejriwal as baseless.
The ED, in its statement, declared that K Kavitha and associates conspired with AAP leaders to manipulate the Delhi excise policy. They allegedly facilitated a continuous stream of illegal funds, disguised as kickbacks from wholesalers, to the AAP in exchange for policy favors.
AAP retaliated by asserting that even the Supreme Court had found no credibility in the ED's claims. They accused the agency of working as a political arm of the BJP and attempting to tarnish the image of Kejriwal and Sisodia ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
Delhi Minister Atishi accused the ED of fabricating stories and lacking evidence against Kejriwal. The AAP condemned the ED probe as a desperate attempt to hinder Kejriwal's campaign for the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Sanju Verma seized on the ED's allegations, labeling Kejriwal as a "corrupt and greedy thug." Verma reiterated the ED's claims of a quid pro quo involving Kejriwal, Sisodia, and Kavitha, highlighting what she perceived as the corruption within the Kejriwal-led government in Delhi.
The political turmoil escalated as both parties exchanged accusations and defended their respective positions. The ED's assertion of a conspiracy involving a significant sum of money injected further intensity into the already heated political landscape.
As the investigation unfolds and political tensions rise, the allegations and counter-allegations between AAP and BJP continue to dominate headlines, shaping the narrative leading up to the upcoming elections.
