More than two years after he was made the CM with support from Congress and NCP, Maharashtra boss Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the CM post late on Wednesday. The resignation came very quickly after the Supreme Court permitted a floor test to be held in the state Assembly on Thursday.

As per the people mandate 2 and half year ago who had votted fro BJP and ShivaSena, but in a political game the Shivasena partnered up with Congress and NCP to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi.

Thackeray after resignation said he would have rather not stayed in power and work for the people of Maharastra. The BJP, which was working in the background to help the Shiv Sena rebels, may have a special interest as BJP may partner up with the rebel Shiva Sena MLA’s. There was celebration at BJP base camp at Thackeray's resignation.
