SIGNIFICANCE OF WORLD THINKING DAY
The day provides an occasion to advocate for young women's rights and needs. It's also a means to raise money for deserving and needy ladies. Millions of young girls commemorate this day. Young girls have the opportunity to speak up about problems that are important to them and to convey their message around the world.
HISTORY OF WORLD THINKING DAY
It was considered at the fourth female scout international conference in 1926 that there was a need for a day where the girl scout could create awareness for girl guides and girl scouts all over the world. Also, to thank and respect the other'sisters' in the girl guides and scouts.
The community agreed on February 22nd as Thinking Day's date and name. Lord Baden-Powell and his wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell both celebrated their birthdays on February 22. Lord founded the Boy Scouts of America, and his wife served as the first world chief guide. In 1999, the day's name was changed to World Thinking Day.
