Wriddhiman Saha speaks out about the threat he received from a reporter

Wriddhiman Saha, the veteran Indian wicketkeeper, confirmed on Monday that he would not give the identity of the journalist who threatened him with an interview to the BCCI if contacted through a tweet he published about the communications.
"This is what I get from a so-called "respected" writer after all of my services to Indian cricket! This is the state of journalism today, "Saha posted screenshots of messages made by a journalist who compelled him to give an interview before threatening him on Saturday, the evening he was pulled from the Indian Test squad.
BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal told PTI earlier on Monday that the board will urge Wriddhiman to reveal the reporter's identify and the context in which the communications were received.
"Yes, we will question Wriddhiman about his tweet and the actual situation that occurred. We need to know if he was intimidated, as well as the context and background of his post. I'm sorry, but I'm at a loss for words. Jay Shah, the secretary, will undoubtedly speak with Wriddhiman "Dhumal explained.
However, if and when requested by the BCCI, Wriddhiman refuses to name the journalist, explaining that his goal was to expose the act on social media rather than jeopardise anyone's career.
"I have yet to get any correspondence from the BCCI." If they ask me to expose the journalist's name, I will tell them that it was never my aim to jeopardise someone's career or to bring someone down. That's why I didn't say anything about it in my tweet. My parents did not teach me that. "The major goal of my tweet was to draw attention to the fact that there is someone in the media who does things like this, violating a player's wishes," he explained.
"It wasn't fair," he continued, "which I intended to convey through my tweets." He who has done it knows exactly what he is talking about. I made those tweets because I didn't want the players to have to deal with anything like that.
Former cricketers such as ex-India head coach Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag have backed Wriddhiman in this case. He also revealed that former cricketer Pragyan Ojha, who currently serves on the IPL Governing Council as the Indian Cricketers Association's (ICA) representative, had called him.
"Ojha called and said, 'I'm not going to ask you about anything personal.' If you feel compelled to pursue this further or take legal action, the BCCI will back you up.' I told him I wasn't ready right now and provided him the reasons why. He answered by adding, "It was all my decision."
