Centre likely to issue advisory on reopening schools soon

According to government sources, the Union Health Ministry is likely to issue an advisory to states on reopening schools with Covid appropriate standards. "Due to increased parental demand, the government is working on a model to open schools. The health ministry has already asked its expert team to investigate all options for school openings "according to the sources.

As the number of Covid-19 cases in India has decreased, there has been increased pressure on the government from parents and schools to reopen educational facilities.

A few states and union territories have already announced the reopening of schools for grades 10 to 12, with the condition that students aged 15 to 18 can only attend offline classes if they have received at least one dose of vaccination. All staff and students over the age of 18 must be immunized with both doses. Despite being one of the worst-affected states, Maharashtra has reopened schools for all grades. Haryana and Chandigarh have announced the reopening of schools for grades ten through twelve. The Delhi government has recommended it to the Lieutenant Governor. The government of Tamil Nadu is also expected to make a similar announcement soon.
