No war is won while fighting from behind: Ajay Jadeja

The glorious finisher MS Dhoni was a force to reckon but with age and time the former Indian captain has lost his shine. The Ranchi-born is currently plying his trade in IPL 2020 and very surprisingly, he and his team is struggling.

CSK have come down to chase the target in all the 3 matches they have played in the IPL 2020 till now. While they won their opener against Mumbai Indians, they have lost their next 2 matches against Rajsthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

Eyebrows were raised when Dhoni chose to come down the order during run-chase versus MI but luckily they won the match courtesy a cameo by Sam Curran. However, The next 2 matches caught MS Dhoni off-guard. He came down to bat as low as seventh against RR and struck 3 sixes only after it was too late for CSK. Then against DC on Friday, he failed to finish again while batting at the 6th position this time.

Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja jas joined the chorus criticising MS Dhoni for his abilities to finish match and also coming down the order on multiple occasions now.

He has said that no war is won without it's 'General' coming down to fight himself. The other thing which is making Jadeja a worried and a sad person is that kids of this generation will be remembering only this version of Dhoni and would fail to realise his greatness of past.

“I would again say the same thing. I am not happy with MS Dhoni's batting position. No war is won while fighting from behind. There's a saying in the Army that a war concludes when the General steps out.

“In cricket, I believe that the one who fights from the front has a better chance of winning the battle. If you have soldiers who can win the battle for you and you can only work towards strategising the war, that's a different scenario. But doesn't look like the case here.

“Dhoni has retired from Indian cricket team duty but is still leading CSK. Those kids who have started watching cricket now, would remember the Dhoni they are seeing on the screens, contrary to the great cricketer they were being told about before which is the sad part," Jadeja told Cricbuzz.

CSK will next be facing SRH on Friday.
