Smriti Irani Vigorously Counters Lalu's 'Parivaarvad' Attack on PM Modi

Union Minister Smriti Irani delivered a blistering response to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's recent "parivaarvad" jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the 'Namo Yuva Maha Sammelan' in Nagpur, organized by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Irani staunchly defended PM Modi, asserting that the 140 crore people of India constitute his family, and no one can dare to harm even a hair of the "Pradhan Sevak" (PM Modi).

Addressing the gathering, Irani emphasized that as the "pradhan sevak," PM Modi has worked for the larger Indian family. Responding to Lalu Prasad Yadav's comments questioning PM Modi's Hindu credentials and family background, Irani retorted, "We are 'Modi's parivaar,' these youths are 'Modi's parivaar'...nobody will be able to touch even a hair of that person whose family comprises 140 crore people of India."

Taking a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Irani challenged him to a debate on the differences between the 10 years of UPA rule and the current Modi-led government. She expressed doubts that Rahul Gandhi would accept the challenge, stating that he wouldn't even stand a chance against an ordinary BJP worker. Irani asserted, "I guarantee that even if an ordinary worker of Yuva Morcha starts speaking in front of Rahul Gandhi, he will lose the strength to speak."

These comments from Irani followed Lalu Prasad Yadav's controversial remarks questioning PM Modi's Hindu identity and mocking him for not having a family. Yadav had insinuated that PM Modi was not a Hindu based on his actions during his mother's death, a claim strongly rejected by the Prime Minister.

In response to the INDI alliance's criticism, PM Modi reiterated his stance against nepotism and dynastic rule, emphasizing that every poor person in the country is his family. This narrative has been embraced by various BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Irani herself, who have appended "Modi ka parivar" (Modi’s family) to their social media handles.

The ongoing campaign, reminiscent of the "main bhi chowkidar" narrative in 2019, aims to counter the Congress’s "chowkidar chor hai" slogan. With the parliamentary elections looming, political leaders are intensifying their rhetoric as they vie for public support.
