Delhi HC has ordered Twitter to remove historian Audrey Truschke's tweets

The Delhi High Court ordered Twitter on Thursday to remove historian Audrey Truschke's tweets accusing historian Vikram Sampath of plagiarism in connection with his works on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar within 48 hours.

The order was issued in response to Mr. Sampath's new application, which requested that the defamatory tweets against him be removed from Twitter. It also served notice on Facebook, claiming that the letter allegedly containing defamatory material had been posted on the social media platform.

Mr. Sampath, a fellow of the Royal Historical Society in London and the author of a two-volume biography of Savarkar, had previously filed a defamation suit against Ms. Truschke and two other authors of the letter, Ananya Chakravarti and Rohit Chopra.
